Terms of Use
The plain-language rules for using Deback. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
1. What the service is
Deback provides a free, browser-based background-removal tool. The basic tool is free to use, requires no account, and processes images locally on your device. We may add optional premium features in the future; the basic tool described on the homepage will remain available.
2. Your images, your rights, your responsibility
- You retain all rights to images you process. We claim no ownership over your photos or the cutouts you create.
- Only upload images you have the right to edit — your own photos, or images licensed for modification.
- Do not use the tool to process unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Removing a background does not transfer or cleanse any rights in the underlying image.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt the site or its hosting infrastructure (including automated abuse, scraping at unreasonable rates, or circumventing technical limits).
- Misrepresent the service — for example, by implying affiliation with or endorsement by Deback when reselling outputs.
- Use the tool's output in ways that violate applicable law.
Outputs you create are yours to use, including commercially, subject to the rights you hold in the source image.
4. No warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that background removal will be accurate, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet every use case. AI segmentation is probabilistic — inspect important results before relying on them.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deback and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service — which, for the free tool, is zero.
6. Third-party components
The tool loads open-source software (the Transformers.js library) and open-licensed AI model weights from third-party CDNs. Those components are subject to their own licenses, documented in THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md. We are not responsible for the availability or practices of those third parties.
7. Independence from other services
Deback is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by remove.bg, Kaleido AI, Adobe, Canva, Photoroom, or any other company mentioned on this site for descriptive or comparative purposes.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date.
